Ryan Haddock I'm outlining the second book in THE BROTHERS FLICK series, and I'm also working on scripts and pitches for a few more grown-up comic series.

On the prose side, I'm working on a hard sci-fi novel under a pseudonym that I'm hoping will be the first in a series as well. NaNoWriMo is pushing that one, but I'm giving myself until Christmas to finish it.
Ryan Haddock Write. It sounds simple, but you would be amazed at the number of people who want to be writers who simply... don't write. They plan. They plot. They outline. They obsess over every detail. They discuss potential stories with their friends. But they never just sit down and write the book.

And you don't even have to write the book. You can write *about* the book. You can write about how you don't actually want to write the book even though you definitely should be writing the book. You can write about the weather outside the window and how much it is distracting you from writing your book.

The point is... write. Put words on paper. At the end of the day, read them out loud, and cross out the ones that get in the way. You'll know them when you see them.

There is no magic method or special formula or seven-step plan. You get your pen or your laptop or your writing instrument of choice, and you write the book. And when you've written as much as you can possibly write, just know that you're halfway there.
Ryan Haddock My brain never stops. It 's a problem, really. The difficulty for me isn't in finding inspiration to write; it's in finding time to relieve the pressure in my head and get the thoughts down on paper. I frequently solve story problems or come up with entirely new ideas when I'm doing something mundane and my mind has time to wander. I've joked often that I write more in my head on a 15-minute drive than I do sitting in front of my computer for two hours — and it's absolutely true. The voice recorder app on my phone sees an abundance of use.
