Dreams of Fire can be read first if you just want to see what my writing is like - there aren't any spoilers as such.
Dreams of Chaos can also be read as a standalone - as it's a prequel story - however if you are reading the whole series, it's best read after the third book

Lord of the Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire, Wild Swans by Jung Chang, Emperor of Thorns by Mark Lawrence, Life of Pi by Yann Martel, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, The Count of Monte Cristo, Howling Dark by Christopher Ruocchio, Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel.... I could go on, but they are the ones in my head right now.
