When we bought our first house in Florida - a brand new build, by the way - every person in our family experienced some strange happenings. I actually drew on some of those experiences for my Ghosts of Tampa Bay series.

The second book in my Ghosts of Tampa Bay Series. As of now it's titled MY BECK. This one will focus on Mara, an oral surgeon who has multiple sclerosis.
My first book in the series took us on Krista's journey. She's a lead coloratura soprano with a major opera company. She also battles lupus and an abusive husband.
Of course these stories also feature a few ghosts, both good, bad, and in between.

Read in the genre that interests you. Read in other genres. Read voraciously. Read the great, good, bad, and everything in between to know the differences.
Study books about writing. Find blogs that give excellent advice on writing and how to write well.
Then, write. Write a little story. Write a longer story.

I watch the news and listen carefully to local happenings. Then I'll take a brief snippet of something I hear, ask What if... and try to turn that idea on its side, give it a few unthinkable twists, and voila writer's block is gone. Or I'll go for a walk to clear my head. Sometimes we overthink when we should not think about anything and free our mind.
