Andrea Jenelle I let it run its course. Sometimes I just have too much on my mind and I need to air out the clutter.
Andrea Jenelle I have a day job that consists of looking at nothing but policy documents. It can become very tedious. Writing is my escape - my favorite way to liberate the creativity that is constrained by the rules and demands of my dependence on my nine-to-five job to do necessary but evil things like pay off my student loans.
Andrea Jenelle Just write. Don't focus on word counts. Some days you're going to write 2,000 words or more and some days you're going to write zero. The important thing is persistence.
Andrea Jenelle I have two serialized books in Kindle Vella. A monster romance called Meghan and the Monster and a medieval romance called The Dying Embers. I am working on the final edits to the 2nd book in the Willow Creek series (coming out in August) and I'm about halfway through the third Willow Creek book (coming out in October).
Andrea Jenelle It hits me at really odd moments -- and certainly not all of them are inconvenient. I keep a notepad on my bedside table because I've had those weird moments of clarity when I wake up for no apparent reason, and the ideas are boiling forth like the pot of newt eyes being stirred by Macbeth's witches. Anytime I get an idea for a story I make sure I write it down immediately. I'll admit that once I start writing, the characters kind of take the reins out of my hands and write the story themselves.
Andrea Jenelle I wanted to feature a ginger heroine, and I've always been a fan of second chance romances. There's already so much weight and longing that's a part of the back story. We are in the process of starting our own orchard and cidery, and I thought it would be fun to parlay that experience into that of my heroine.
