Daniel P. Riley Writer's Block? Doesn't exist.
Writer's block is an excuse, sad to say, for not being prepared. With a solid, well-written outline, a good Mood Machine, and the drive to write, there's no way you'll get writer's block.
Daniel P. Riley Getting to see how people enjoy the wild and weird stories I write!
Daniel P. Riley Consistency is Key!
1hr a day, even at 500 words is 2500 to 3500 words in a week!

Practice, Practice, Practice.
Daniel P. Riley I've finished a superhero novel already, so I'm working on a sci-fi/steampunk western called Rise of the Patriot about a teenage boy seeking a legendary hero in the deserts of a desolate United States to learn more about his father. The latter died in the last great war, never getting to see his son. Embroiled in troubles from Day One, Jack Selby begins to understand just what his mother meant when she said he had a hero's blood in his veins.
Daniel P. Riley I call it The Mood Machine and I share it with other authors all the time! At least 30 minutes of walking and daydreaming, a nice cup of tea afterward, and music that reminds me of the key aspects of the story I'm writing (which means I curate playlists for everything. >.<)
Daniel P. Riley Jisedai was inspired by Kurosawa films and the desire to write something with an anime/manga style. I wrote it as the first in a series of standalone-ish stories focused on combatting the "Holy Eight of Suzakushin Corp." and eventually the corporation itself, showcasing lead protag Gabriel's growth from violent assassin to devoted protector and rebel.
