I wanted to write a sci-fi story with the depth of world-building that I felt the eighties film classics possessed, at least in my head, but with a hero that felt like a real person who was skilled and tough but was sometimes capable of losing himself to the chaos around him. To that, I added the single most distracting, all-encompassing, and rewarding thing a man like that could ever have to contend with, a daughter.

My primary project is the follow-up to Children of the Black, titled The Hound of Greyvor. It is a bit more of a space opera than book 1, but I think fans of Claude and Vision will be excited to see just how rocky their road gets once they leave the "safety" of Minerva Prime.

"Great, more rain," Joanna groaned as she lugged a ripped trashbag across rain-slicked asphalt toward the giant green dumpster at the light's edge. The downpour and darkness hid secrets from her, but the low, excited growl of the beast stalking her sent a chill down her spine even though thunder kept it from her ears.
