The fact that fantasy will always be my reality.

Uhhh... I don't, haha. I usually do something else productive or catch up on housework until I have that 'aha!' moment where the pieces fall into place and the story reveals itself to me. I'm lucky that I don't get blocked too often. It's really rare that I'm 100% stuck and have no idea what to write.

Oh, gosh. This is going to sound so unoriginal, but I completely agree with a lot of the usual advice.
1. Read a lot (or listen to audiobooks, that's what I do while cooking and cleaning).
2. Write every day. Even if it's just 10 words, you want to build that habit.
3. Don't worry about how the first draft looks. Mine is a disaster. Just get the story down and worry about making it make sense later.
4. You WILL get better and faster at writing. My first book took me seven years to write because I kept stopping and rewriting. My second book took me one year. My third took six months. My fourth and fifth took four months each.
5. Once you publish, be nice to your readers! They have thousands of authors and millions of books to choose from. Give them a reason outside of your writing to keep coming back to you.

My most recent book is Ash and Roses--which is releasing on October 17th.
This one was actually inspired by a dream I had while I was writing another book. In this case, the dream was about what happens at the end of chapter seven.
I made a few changes to it, but for the most part it's almost exactly how I dreamed it. Even a few of the characters were created just because of that dream--Abby, Teagan, and the Commander especially. And, of course, the monster.
