There are a few different methods that I've found effective. Sometimes it's best to take a break for a bit to clear your head. Work on something else and don't think about it for a while. Other times I'll skip what's 'blocking' me and move on to a scene I'm excited about. There's no harm in going back later to tie it all together. Finally, sometimes I'll just get something on paper and keep going. It might not be any good, but it's a lot easier to edit words than a blank page.

I'm looking forward to reading a bunch of books this summer. Whether or not I get to them all is another story, but I'm really excited to read Portrait of a Thief by Grace D. Li, The Other Side of Night by Adam Hamdy, and The Gates of Evangeline by Hester Young. And it won't feel like summer until I read Daniel Silva's latest Gabriel Allon spy thriller.
