She'd been up all night as wanderers came in and out of her door giving their condolences, but now it was nearly sunrise and as the sun came over the treetops everyone would retreat into the safety of their own homes; for the dead roamed the streets for any stupid traveler who dared to enter their dominion. Sunlight came filtering in through the windows as she made to blow out the candles that had been lit throughout the night, as a knock sounded on her door.
