Our FB group, Hey Long Island... Do U Remember....? provides inspiration about the people, places and things that make Long Island such a special place. The memories that are shared by generations of people span decades and are as vast as memories could be. Sometimes it is a restaurant we loved, a carousel ride, a roller rink... the smell of grandma's pasta sauce on the stove on a Sunday in preparation for a big, family dinner... a walk though a park or the thought of delivering newspapers in the snow. All these recollections inspired us to research and write about the Long Island memories that made us who we are today. And that is what Hey Long Island... Do U Remember? is all about!

One of the joys of researching and writing about the history of Long Island, is that there are always new and exciting topics to learn about. Even before we finished "Hey Long Island... Do U Remember?" we had a list of places, people and events that we want to include in a sequel book. We always look to our fan base on Facebook in our group Hey Long Island... Do U Remember....? for inspiration. We welcome people to contact us to discuss their family-run businesses and their favorite places and people on Long Island. We are always looking for exciting and interesting topics to feature in our pages, to tell the Long Island story.

Our book was born from a small Facebook group that started in 2008, 14 years ago now, when we decided to chat about memories of growing up on Long Island, NY. The group grew to 157,000 members and we decided to create a book that would celebrate the very best of memories and nostalgia through photographs and art with stories about the places we love. The journey resulted in the pages of this book.
