In The Excalibur File is based in the Australia of 2030, in which China invades our north (I am becoming increasingly worried it's going to come true), and Benito's Truth is a novel written around the legend of Benito's Treasure, supposedly buried at Queenscliff, Victoria. (view spoiler)[I attended Geelong Grammar and was lucky enough to be taught by Michael Collins Persse, probably the best English teacher ever if you don't count John Keating of 'Dead Poets Society.' One classmate was Peter Carey, winner of 3 Booker Prizes, so I reckon if I could beat him in class there was some hope for me as a writer. (hide spoiler)]
