Probably various shows, movies, and books where there's a ton of sexual tension between true enemies: a hero and a villain. I just remember feeling frustrated that these stories almost never acted on that sexual tension because it was just too *wrong.*
I wanted to write a story where the heroine and villain actually have sex. Dark Lord's Conquest is one of the darkest, least consensual and power-imbalanced versions of this idea, but I'm sure I'll write other iterations in the future.

Allow yourself to make mistakes. Write a horrible first novel. Choose a niche that approximately 15 people read. Miss out on boatloads of money because your keyword research sucks. Seriously. Because no matter how many mistakes you make, you'll still be far ahead of the perfectionist who never got started, and you'll learn things you never even thought to research.
