Julie Bergman My most recent series is based loosely on my military career. I retired in 2016 from the Air Force. I worked in the JAG Corp, where we saw all kinds of different cases. Most of my books are based in some part on my experience in the military.
Julie Bergman I read. It is as simple as that. I am very creative and have always loved to write, but this is the first time I have been able to write full-time.

I have more ideas running around in my head than I know what to do with. I am driven to write every day so that one day I can make a full-time living at it and be more available to my family.
Julie Bergman I'm working on the 4th book in my Sergeant Evelyn "Mac" McGregor Series, and I am co-authoring a standalone book with another author.
Julie Bergman Keep writing. The more you create, the better you will become. My first short stories were okay. My novels are even better. I am excited about continuing to learn and, over time maybe becoming as good as the big dogs. This doesn't happen overnight. Be patient and keep writing.

The writing business is expensive if you plan to do it right. Hire a professional editor and cover designer, and find beta readers. Don't try to go it alone. If you are going to do it, then do it well. Most of us have to work a day job, but it is worth your time.
Julie Bergman It is an amazing outlet, both creatively and emotionally. It is a wonderful thing to be able to sit down and pour all your frustrations out on a page. It is the one place you can murder people and not get into trouble for it. Just kidding. I love to write and hope one day I can make a full-time living at it.
Julie Bergman I walk with my husband or spend some time with my kids. If I am really stuck, I usually pick up one of my favorite authors for inspiration.
Julie Bergman I find the Eragon series interesting. Even more fascinating, a young man created something so intricate and fantastic. If I were to visit, I would, of course, want to ride a dragon.
Julie Bergman J.D Barker's 4MK Thrillers and John Sanford's Pray Series, for starters, and then I'll go from there.
Julie Bergman How my mother ended up the way she was? Her mother was wonderful and her younger two sisters were so kind to me but she ended up being a stage 5 alcoholic with multiple mental health issues. I've always wondered why she turned out that way.
