Rachel Corsini The idea for my most recent book, Sushi and Sea Lions, came from my own life! I used my past experiences and present ones to shape the story. Daniela is very much like me and it also helped to sort out some things I was dealing with. I also love a happily ever after so I made sure that was a part of the story.
Rachel Corsini A lot of times the inspiration comes from bits and pieces of my own life. I find it's authentic and true to me and I can use it in my stories. However, I do take fictional license often.
Rachel Corsini I'm currently working on Tricia's story. She is Daniela's best friend from my forthcoming novel. The book is linked to Sushi and Sea Lions, but you don't need to read that book to follow this one. Tricia is the polar opposite of Dany and it's been really fun to get into her head.
Rachel Corsini Write and keep writing. You will only improve as you work on it. Read and read often. You will learn from the books you read. Don't compare yourself to others and their milestones. Everything happens in its own time.
Rachel Corsini I'm a character driven writer, so it's getting inside a character's head and showing their story. I love getting to learn who this person is and why they do the things they do.

Rachel Corsini She saw the knife before anything else. When she died, there was nothing.
Rachel Corsini Neverland. It could be fun to halt time for a while. As we know, you don't grow up there, ha! I'd definitely have some adventures with the Lost Boys, maybe swim with the mermaids (if they don't try to drown me first), and of course battle some pirates.
Rachel Corsini Currently, I am working through a backlist of my friends' books! I have such talented friends who write amazing things. Even if they aren't in my genre, I still read them. They have so much to offer. Right now on my list is Cascade by Rachel Rosen and The Devil You Know by Nicole Northwood.
Rachel Corsini I'm not sure if I have a real mystery in my life. I sort of live like an open book really. I'm pretty straight forward. However, there is my former ballet life that I don't really unveil right away. That could be something...
