Anne Supsic Hi Katie, I'm so glad you enjoyed my book, and I really appreciate this question. I am currently working on a second book, tentatively titled Women of Steel, which crosses the river to South Bethlehem. This one tells the story of an unlikely friendship between the daughter of a Bethlehem Steel executive and the daughter of Irish immigrants whose father and brother work at the steel mill. Hoping to publish some time next year.
Thanks so much for your interest!
Best,
Anne
Anne Supsic For me, the readers are the best thing! I've met so many wonderful people, and there is nothing more rewarding than someone saying they loved my book. Means the world to me each and every time.
Anne Supsic My best advice is to find a story that moves you, a story that you believe needs to be told. The path to be coming a writer is not an easy one, but the one thing that always kept me going was that I believed in my story.
Anne Supsic It all started with a painting. I have been a volunteer docent at the Moravian Museum in Bethlehem for many years, and one day, I arrived at the museum and discovered a new exhibit with a painting of Lafayette with Liesl and her stepmother. At that point, I didn’t even know Lafayette had spent time in Bethlehem, much less that a Moravian woman had been his nurse. I am a total Francophile, and Lafayette has always been my favorite Frenchman, so learning of the connection between Lafayette and the Moravians was incredible--like worlds colliding! And at that moment, I knew I had found the story I was meant to tell.
