E.L. Miller When I was in college, a professor told me that Writer's Block isn't actually a thing. I was pretty annoyed at the time when she said it, but it stuck with me, and I now agree. Instead of resigning myself to Writer's Block, I just keep writing. Even if it's awful. Even if it's just words or phrases. Even if it's doodles in a notebook. Writing in any form is the antidote to Writer's Block.
E.L. Miller The Countess's Pact is a work of fiction, but my countess was inspired by Elizabeth Báthory, a real-life Hungarian noblewoman who is allegedly the most prolific female serial killer in history. She was convicted of torturing and murdering hundreds of people, and some of her contemporaries suggested she was a vampire.

E.L. Miller I am currently working on a collection of classic fairy tales told with an all-grown-up, modern twist. The first volume includes Sleeping Beauty, Red Riding Hood, and Jack and the Beanstalk. I am still agonizing over the final touches, but planned publication is late August/early September 2022.
E.L. Miller I have read Betty Smith's A Tree Grows in Brooklyn every summer since I was twelve years old, and I continued that tradition. Also, I just finished Isabel Allende's In the Midst of Winter, and I am currently reading American Dirt for a new book club I just joined.
