When I am suffering from writer's block, I use that time to do revisions of previously written material. Or sometimes I will use the time to start a short story that I have already outlined. I try to worry about it, because that only makes the situation worse. I know that things will eventually right themselves and that I will be back on track.

The feeling of pride and accomplishment when people relate to my work. It is a joyous thing to have written words that unlock the emotions of readers. To know that others have enjoyed the work is a humbling and wonderful experience.

I guess the initial answer would be that I always liked to write...literally. A pen or pencil making its way across paper; writing words and practicing penmanship, doodling shapes and figures. Then at around the age of eleven, I realized that I could use those words to write stories. I wrote about aliens, and then I wrote poetry. It was many years later that I finally started making notes on dreams I had, and in those I realized that I might have stories to tell. So, when I reached retirement I began to write my first novel and the result was "The Touch of Her Voice."
