When people message me privately and tell me about how the book has reunited their family or reconnected them with a distant partner who didn't know how to talk about their gender, all of the work and the stress just feels completely worth it. Knowing that words that I wrote have helped other people's relationships is amazing. Look what art can do!

In traveling throughout North & Central America, I noticed the same questions asked over and over about nonbinary and trans people. I thought, wouldn't it be nice if we all had some sort of shared knowledge so that we could move on and have deeper conversations?
