I am finishing up the final approvals for the first Declan Rosewood Mystery in my new series that will come out this fall. I am also almost at first draft stage of the second book, Tiara Borealis, in my Four Crowns series.

I'm digging deep into Celtic Mythology! I've got a couple titles by Daniel Allison, Iron Man by Robert Bly, and several anthologies I nabbed in a tiny bookshop in Portree on the Isle of Skye this summer.

Self-discipline is one of the best skills to foster if you want to be a writer.
People will tell you to write every day, tell stories you know, or throw away your first draft. These may be true for you but maybe not. Maybe you write every four months. Maybe you want to talk about subjects that don't have to do with your current expertise. Maybe your first draft is a unicorn of beauty.
In all of those situations, though, self-discipline will get your work finished and out there. Commit to your art, commit to yourself, and you'll do great things.
