Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Pepper Anne I got the idea for The Notorious Texas Swindler from talking to family members and, after hearing their version of events firsthand and seeing the evidence of criminal activity that could not be hid anymore, I realized that this was a story that had to be told. I spent more than a decade interviewing individuals in law enforcement, victims of the crimes, friends and family, researching and writing and rewriting what I believe is my best work yet.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Pepper Anne The few times I've experienced writer's block, I find that taking a walk outside in the fresh air helps to clear my mind. I'm able to plan what the next step is in the writing process and it's a great way to relieve stress. I also enjoy going to the local nursery to look for new plants and it gives me the opportunity to be able to work in my garden. These are just a few ways I combat writer's block.
