Christine Cazaly I'm an identical twin. But my twin died before we were born, and I grew up knowing nothing about her. Until I was sixteen and she came to tell me exactly where to look for the evidence. Fabulous, completely true ghost story. Perfect for today! (I'm writing this on Hallowe'en)!
Christine Cazaly Read more - but as a writer. How are your favourite authors crafting their story? What are they doing that draws you in? Makes you laugh, cry?
Understand structure. Edit. Edit. Edit.
Fall in love with your characters. You will be in their world for a long time!
And never give up!
Christine Cazaly Blank pages. Friend or foe?! Like many authors I go and make a cup of tea/coffee/stiff drink. Peruse the internet. Worry about my stats on Amazon. Think about doing the ironing. If I seriously get that far, I know I'm in trouble.

If in doubt - go back to your plot. Because if you are worried about starting the story, you may also be subconsciously worrying that the structure isn't right. Plotting isn't writing. (But if i start plotting, I find myself writing. it's a mind trick!)
Christine Cazaly I adore writing. It's a hobby I always aspired to, but never made enough time for. Until covid lockdown, when I had to temporarily close up my ballroom dance business and had no excuses.

We were not allowed out of the house. But when you are living in the world of make believe, you can be anywhere you want. It was, and is, a great escape. I've just transitioned from entering another author's imagination (which is completely awesome) as a reader to sharing my own.
Christine Cazaly I'm working on the prequel to Queen of Swords, Seer of Epera, a gripping novella written from Mistress Eglion's point of view as the Kingdom of Epera falls into chaos following the death of Queen Gwyneth. I'm saying nothing else because - spoilers!
