L. Maristatter I've finally scraped up the courage (and the time!) to face the (already written) behemoth that is Radical, the second book in the Tiny Tin House series. It's been intimidating me because SO MUCH changed during the editing process of Tiny Tin House. Those changes will require me to rework a lot of Book 2.

Which, actually, is the exact conundrum Meryn is facing in Radical. How will she deal with the radical changes in her life, and will she let them shape her into the person she must become to fulfill Zipporah's prophecy?
L. Maristatter Don't write because you think it's cool, or you think you'll be famous or make a lot of money. That will always show up on the page. Write the novel or the poem or the essay or the story because to not write it would destroy you. Write what takes you by the throat and won't let go.
L. Maristatter The best thing about being a writer is also the worst thing: diving into your own head and translating what you find. Excavating the wrenching, the devastating, the joyful, the hideous, and bleeding that all onto the page for the reader, in hopes that somewhere in the mess they might find something valuable, something helpful, maybe even something transcendent. There is no safe way to be a writer. Not if you want to be a good one.
