L.A. Barren I don't. I honestly don't. My writer's block is always associated with a reading slump, so I can't win. I continue writing (very poorly) until that spark is finally back, and I'm up till three in the morning writing a praise scene where he suddenly becomes her daddy and is VERY proud of her.
L.A. Barren Having an outlet. Because everyone has an outlet, I feel so blessed that writing has become mine. Writing has helped me put some very deep, confusing, and difficult emotions into words, and in a way, it's become like therapy for me.
L.A. Barren Write first and foremost for YOU. Write what YOU love, and pour your heart and soul into your writing because YOU want to. For me, writing has never been about making money or impressing others.

I write to put my thoughts on paper, and I LOVE what I write. If other people don't see what the hype is about, that's perfectly fine because everyone has a different opinion, and you will not be able to appease the whole community.

Write to improve, write to tell a story, write to invoke emotions, and most importantly, write because YOU want to!
L.A. Barren I am currently working on Book Two and Three of my trilogy. I am SO pumped to share them with the book community and know everyone will fall in love with the strong female characters. But also the tortured, morally grey 6'5 men who have some, uh, very interesting things to say.
L.A. Barren I draw inspiration from past traumatic experiences (crazy, right?), sex-crazed 20th-century female poets, and the historical failures of mediocre white men.

Kidding. Sorta.

Most of my inspiration comes from crime shows and late-night music that makes you want to bawl your eyes out and sing along to the lyrics.
L.A. Barren I was rewatching Peaky Blinders for the millionth time, and a very specific scene stood out to me. I took that scene and wrote a novel.
