Just continue writing. Do as much as you can and if you have the willpower, then everything will come into place, whether it be self-publishing, or contracted with a traditional publishing house.
I also advise that you work on social media as soon as you get a book out, or close to release, and work on marketing strategies. Regretfully, I had not done this with Keys to My Heart and now had to start from scratch - which is not as easy as I thought!

I was staying at a resort, and there happened to be a conference at the hotel. There was a large number of attendees at the same breakfast buffet I was at, and a story just developed from there. I used the event as a backdrop and the rest just fell into place.

Life events, things that I've seen or heard about. Sometimes simply by reading books can give me an idea. Lastly, music. For example, Demons by Imagine Dragons inspired me to write Prophecy of a Vampire.

I am working on two books at the moment, but mainly a steamy Rom-Com. I aim for it to be completed this year; fingers crossed for a contract by end of 2023!

Step away from writing the manuscript for as long as needed until inspiration returns and start a new story in the meantime. That's how I came up with my current rom. I needed to put my writing into another story whilst I was brewing plots and fixing plot holes and trying to get out of the writers block rut.
