Harry Potter, hands down. I grew up with those books coming out, as well as the movies. I absolutely love them. I wouldn't mind doing 7 more years of school if that letter finally came!

One way is I tackle the novel with "What If?" pages. I try and brainstorm what needs to be done, how to get there, and what could happen with each option.
If that doesn't work, I set the piece aside to cool down. I go for the one that has me most excited next. It's a rotation. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I greatly enjoy taking the mythology told to the world and adding my own spin on things. That's the best part of writing. You can add your own twist to anything and everything!

The condition of your first draft doesn't matter. The goal is to finish it. The editing stage may be a pain, but it can easily uncover some amazing twists that you weren't expecting when you initially wrote it. And don't be afraid of rewrites!

I've always had a fascination with New Orleans (especially the French Quarter) since I read Sherrilyn Kenyon's books growing up. I finally got to take a vacation to this amazing city and see the Quarter with my own eyes. It solidified that I wanted to use this city in my work. It has a hint of mystery there and I absolutely love it!
