No question but can I comment? Just a comment on your knowledge of Bahrain and using hotels and restaurants as focal points in your protagonist's journey through the alleys and roads of Manama. Brought back a number of memories. A very enjoyable read.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

I.S. Berry I spent six years as a spy for the CIA. Long after coming in from the cold, my days in espionage still haunted me. The Middle East, in particular, remained in my mind—its complexity, its nuances, its murk and beauty. I’d spent two years in Bahrain during the Arab Spring, and found the conflict both enigmatic and fascinating. It was, I realized, the perfect vehicle for a spy tale—a case officer caught in a profound struggle, forced to choose sides, searching for an elusive truth.
