I just let it pass. I cannot write just to put words on paper with specific word counts in mind. I have to have the start of the scene perfected in my head before I can put it to paper.

I was watching a commercial for a medication that, supposedly, allowed you to live 6-9 months longer after diagnosed with cancer. After hearing all the side effects, I wondered if I were given a choice to take the medication with all its horrible effects or just live the rest of my days as best I could, which one would I choose? I chose to live the rest of my days as best I could, and so does my main character.

Currently, I am working on a suspense/thriller novel. What I find interesting about this manuscript is its title. I have a "draft" title that I gave it and wasn't sure I liked it. I simply needed something for the file name on the computer. As time has gone on, I find myself liking the title more and more.
