I am inspired by history and people’s role in it. It is my best inspiration. Otherwise, I set a schedule and stick to it. I currently write four days a week in the mornings. I seldom suffer from writer’s block, but if I did I would move on to something more interesting to me, like researching an event I’m currently working with.

I wanted my children and grandchildren to understand their heritage, but I knew that a genealogy book about this person begatting that person is boring. So I wrote a narrative non-fiction book about a person in my family who was one of Florida’s earliest pioneers. She got here in 1829. It also tells Florida’s historical story, too.
