That’s a tough one. I don’t put pressure on myself. I realize that it’s just something I need in order to take a break from the story. So I curl up with a good book and try to get inspired by another authors beautiful words on the page. It usually works for me.

My grandfather had a photo that I found in amongst our family photos. He was a police officer and the photo was from his first case. It was of a woman standing next to a tiny coffin. He died with the secret of what happened. He never wanted to talk about it. My writer brain ran with it.
