Arthur Gibson Peter Wimsey and Harriet Vane. They are simply very suited to each other. The meet as equals, they compliment each other in temperament and skills, and they are not afraid to compromise to reach a solution. They are always well written.
Arthur Gibson My most recent book was "A Carpenter's Faith", which is a historical take on the Nativity or Christmas story. The idea came from being honestly interested in their religious beliefs. If you take all that the story says happened as true, how did it affect their relationships or their cultural beliefs? Were they pariahs? There is a verse in the bible where a person asks another person from Nazareth who Jesus is. When he is told that he is the son of Joseph, the response is "Oh, the carpenter's son? Huh." We're talking thirty years after the events. Thirty years later, they know who Joseph was and they aren't impressed. That means that supernatural allegory or truth, events occurred that made these people very memorable - and not well-liked. I wanted to explore that.
Arthur Gibson I love stories. I constantly have them in my head. Whenever I see something, read something, or watch something, I think of characters I have that would go well in those settings, situations, or worlds. I try to think of a fantastic tale that hasn't been written yet, and then I write it.
Arthur Gibson Read a lot, write a lot, live a lot. If you don't read widely, you won't see what works, what doesn't, and how beautiful language can be. If you don't write a lot, you'll never better yourself or develop your voice. If you don't live a lot, you won't have any human interaction and experience to infuse your characters with. Leave out any of those things and your work will be flat.
Arthur Gibson I am currently working on two books. With some luck, they will both be out in Spring 2015.

A fantasy novel based in the world of Kh'uvnuhnt (there is a novella bundle coming out in Dec 2014 in this world that gives a sneak peek) that introduces the main characters and major conflicts. Other books are planned in a timeline that jumps before and after that first novel to fill in blanks, deepen the history, and see what happens.

An adventure tale of a super-hero without powers fighting the Nazis in World War Two. He gets sucked through a rift in space/time ending up in a world in which the Nazis are winning the war with incredible super-weapons. The Symbol must head to their secret research base on the bottom of the world and destroy the program before it destroys freedom.
Arthur Gibson Telling stories. I get to tell any story I want, help other people tell theirs, and paint pictures in your mind with words. It is an incredible rush and I can't think of anything else better that I'd like to do.
Arthur Gibson I prefer to conquer writer's block by reading. I pick a genre that is the polar opposite of whatever I am writing, and then read some great stories. By seeing how other people conquer their bumps, I find it easier to conquer my own.

In an emergency, I fall back on the classic Raymond Chandler law: "When in doubt, have a man come through a door with a gun in his hand." Now you just need to figure out why he is there, what he wants, and how to avoid him using that gun. Kills the "block" every time.
