I thought The Surgeon of Royaumont was your debut novel - am I wrong? It's still one of the best books I've ever read. I keep thinking about it long after I've read it.

I've written non-fiction before (with another one on the way soon), but fiction was an entirely new journey for me. I'm so pleased the story resonated with you — bringing these women and their history to life, and to new audiences, has been a real joy.
