Sadly, I am so busy writing I don't have a ton of books in my tbr. I am listening to audio books currently in the car on my way to work. Th Magical Midlife Series - which cracks me up and their are some pretty spicy bits too.

I loved the Disney movie Swiss Family Robinson as a kid. Tropical island, amazing tree house, and a whole collection of exotic animals... why the heck did they want to leave that island? The scene where they race on the back of the ostrich and the donkey is the best. I'd do that every day.

I just sit down and tell myself that I only have to write one sentence. Usually if I do that, I might even write two.

I think the hardest thing is setting aside those negative voices that tell you what you are writing is crap. I would say, just write it anyway. Crap on the page can be edited. You can't edit a blank page.

I am working on the sequel to Rainbow State. Although the book could be a stand alone novel, I think Jade and DJ have A LOT more adventures up their sleeves.

I got the idea at a dinner party, which for me is really weird. Hello, introvert here! Anyway, this woman who I had JUST met told me that her mom had recently passed away and that before she died, she had told her daughter that no matter what she would find a way to reach her. I immediately started fretting about dying and leaving my teenage daughter without a mom to guide her through those years. Rainbow State is both a love letter to my children, and a kind of loving, albeit cryptic manual on how to survive your teen years.
