Not sure I am qualified to answer this just yet, but if I were to offer one piece of advice it would be to write an outline of the book before trying to write a single page. Making it up as you go is too hard (at least for me). This doesn't mean the story won't take on a life of its own as you write and it is ok if you deviate from your outline, but have a plan going in.

I have currently finished a children's picture book as well as a Fantasy Novel. I will be desperately trying to find agents/publishers for each for the next few months along with promoting Rasputin's Prodigy, which released in e-book form on Amazon today (3-31-16).

Everyday experiences inspire stories, but the best way to actually get myself in the mood to write would be to read or listen to audio books.

This is the third book of the series, but the original idea came from learning about obscure diseases in Pathology class while I was in Chiropractic school. Specifically Porphyria and XP are diseases that manifest conditions that, back in the days before science, might have been thought of as Vampirism. It was a short leap from there to imagine that this might have been the way the whole legend started.
