Gary Cockaday I walk away, take the dog out, pop into town for a coffee. If needs be take a couple of days off. I always take a few days between each step, each rewrite. Never beat yourself up... look at what you've achieved and trust that your story will continue when ready.
Gary Cockaday For me, it was completing my first - getting it published was the joyous cherry.
Gary Cockaday That's a tough one. Be brave, get the words down. Select your advice carefully - definitely find good readers, a good editor - I found a brilliant one. Rewrite lots until you can't improve it, I rewrote 10 times.
Follow your heart.. write your story.
Gary Cockaday I'm working on the sequel (working title if - only) to Full Circle, about to start the second rewrite. It wasn't intended to be a sequel but my two favourite cops forced their way in.

It's another love story of sorts with less sex, less violence.
Gary Cockaday I didn't think I'd write a second but I woke up one morning with the need to try. The first hour was hard, nothing worked, the delete key was wearing out but then the words settled on the page.
Gary Cockaday I started the first draft 25 years ago, I blew the dust off whilst Mrs C worked in A&E. I'd always known the ending. I've always liked the idea of a second chance adult love story laced with revenge and redemption.
