I'm a big fan of the saying "write what you want to read". Everything I write is, ultimately, coming from a place of my own personal tastes. One of the things I love about writing is if someone else finds my story and the feel the same way as I do.

My two main strategies are either reading what I've already written to see if I can hype myself back into the "zone" or I simply listen to the block and don't write. As long as I don't have a deadline to hit, a break can be helpful.

I started getting into a lot of audio books during my commute into work. The more I read, the more the interest to write something of my own grew. Particularly, "The Iron Druid" series by Kevin Hearne lit that spark and motivated me to write.
