I was born to a mother with severe mental illness, so I know firsthand the devastation that mental illness can cause. I also know how important it is to get treatment and support. That's why I wrote Born Into Crisis: A Memoir. It's my story of overcoming trauma and finding healing, and it's also a call to action for mental health reform.
