Everything is material! I always have a million ideas floating around. Some will come from some simple observance. Some will be big ideas I have been turning over and over for years. Once in awhile I will get an "urgent" idea which is always signified by "the bells of truth" which will literally chime in my head! I know this is a project the Universe wants me to attend to immediately and stop everything else I am doing!

Oh boy! Well I am finishing a new feature documentary called "Garden of the Peaceful Dragon", it is a portrait of an unusual man I befriended in Kapa'a, Kaua'i. My first narrative feature film, "Sunset Edge" that I wrote and directed is about to open in theaters in NYC and LA which requires so much attention! Meanwhile I am in pre-production on a new feature film I wrote. We are just starting casting the lead roles. In between these projects, I am writing a new script! Plus I have at least six other projects on "simmer"...

I am a painter and for that you need many supplies. I am also a filmmaker and have directed five feature films which requires a lot of money, and many people to help you. But when you are writing, you hardly need anything at all! With just a piece of paper and a pencil, you can create entire worlds!
