Michael Hodges I enjoy motivating myself to complete projects, and meet deadlines. Sometimes these deadlines are from my editor, other times they are self-imposed.

I work hard, so seeing my work in print, or translated, or having Hollywood producers contact me is rewarding. But in the end, the biggest reward is the work itself. There is nothing like writing a first draft.

Yes, I intentionally wrote multiple layers into The Invasive, so it could be enjoyed again. I also place easter eggs in my books. You will find things you didn't on the first read. A lot of things happen in that novel! And I'm pleased to say that the sequel, The Invasive: Remnants will be out soon.
Michael Hodges There's no quick fix. Writer's block can last for days...or years. Your best option is to continue to read great fiction and non-fiction until you get past it. Also, it's important to have a writing space you feel comfortable in.
