Hello I really love the KGI series and can't wait to read more. You said in other comments that you are planning for 16 books, and that Joe and Rusty would both be getting books. Who else do you plan on writing about if you stick to only doing 16 KGI books? If you decide to continue and write about all the KGI members I would love to read about all of them.

Maya Banks I'm honestly not 100% sure yet. I'm looking at Skyler, Edge, Dolphin, and a few others that have my attention. And the KGI series could go longer! I know it will be AT LEAST 16. It really is in the readers' hands. I NEVER want to drag out a series after the readers' interest has waned. Thankfully my readers are vocal and honest about what they want and what they don't want. And I LOVE them for that! <3 <3 <3

Love your writing and your amazing to us fans, thank you for it all. When it comes to your writing where is the one place you go to find Inspiration? And if you could pick one series to make a movie/TV series what would it be? I would love kgi as a TV series.....all those alpha mans. ; )

Maya Banks Thank you, Heather! I don't really GO anywhere to find inspiration. Sometimes I'll hear something in a conversation that makes me think "What if...?" and a story idea is born. Other times it can come to me while riding in the car on the way back from vacation, which is what happened with RUSH. However, I love to travel and that tends to recharge me and make me eager to write.

As for a TV series, I'd agree with you. KGI. All that action would be fun to watch on screen!

I love your books, especially the Scottish and shifter sub-genres, OK, I was crazy for the Colter series also, who are your favorite authors? I just began reading Lara Adrian, but I have that panic as I near the end of a series or an authors' body of work and don't know who to read next.

Maya Banks Christine Feehan's Carpathian series was my first paranormal and I still love Dark Prince SO much. Nalini Singh is AWESOME. Julie Garwood's historicals are some of my comfort reads. My last binge read was Kristen Ashley and I always recommend her books, especially her Rock Chicks. I love over the top romances with plenty of angst and these books always deliver it for me. <3

Maya hi. Just want to start off by saying I love your books. You're a talented writer. My question though has to do with romances in your upcoming books. Being of Black origin, I was wondering whether you would ever open your characters to interracial relationships. I know a lot of authors are hesitant to probably venture there. But I'm curious as to your take on it?

Maya Banks Absolutely! I have two interracial relationships in the Sweet series (Sweet Temptation and Sweet Addiction) and I'm always open to where ever my characters lead me.

I just started reading your book in 2015, ive read the kgi series and some stand alones. I have the slow burn series and surrender series in waiting but was wondering if you planned on continuing your. Falcon mercenary group series in the future? Stacey

Maya Banks I would love to continue that series but it's not possible since I'm no longer with that publisher. Circumstances may change and allow me to write more in the future but for now it will remain just the two books.

I have just finished your latest book Mastered and I LOVED it (of course I have loved all your books) When should we expect the follow up to this series?? I'm dying to find out what happens with Drake and Evangeline.

Maya Banks Yay! I'm so happy that you loved Mastered! Dominated will be out on May 3rd. And if you like teasers, an excerpt from Dominated went up today to celebrate Romance Week. Hi maya! I have read Kgi, breathless, sweet, colters, series loved them all! What series should I start on next?

Maya Banks For a romantic suspense feel similar to my KGI, I'd suggest the Slow Burn series. For the more erotic books, the Surrender trilogy and Mastered would probably be the best fit. Mastered is a two-part book with the conclusion (Dominated) releasing in May.

Hi Maya, How long does it take from writing a book to publishing it? Thanks!

Maya Banks It varies. From the time an author turns in the first copy of the manuscript to their editor to when the book is released can be 6 months to a year, in some cases longer. Small-press publishers tend to have a quicker turn around, and self-publishing can be faster than that.

Why is there such a long wait between KGI Books please? A year is a long time ! This is my favourite contempary series by the way Thanks Jayne

Maya Banks Release dates are decided and established by my publisher so my releases are spaced appropriately. Many things factor into that decision, including my other books with that publisher, my books with another publisher, and the books of other authors they publish as well.

Will Joe in KGI Series get a book please ?

Maya Banks Yes, Joe will be getting a book. I'm looking at him for possibly book 12 or 13 but that could change once I start writing the next book. I have to make sure each book is authentic and not just shoe horned into the series.

Is a KGI book coming soon? Will Rusty get her story with the sheriff? :)

Maya Banks KGI #11 will be out in February 2017. Rusty and Sean will be getting their story but it's still a few books away. Rusty is just finishing college so I need to give her time to grow up and find her footing in the adult world before she tackles Sean :)

Maya Banks The Colters series is complete. I don't have anything on my current schedule along similar story lines but many of the themes and tropes in that series are some of my favorites so it's a possibility in future.

Hi! You are an amzing author and I just finished Mastered which was amazing, but I have to say that I really enjoyed "Be with Me" which is a menage story you wrote a while back. Do you think you'll perhaps write another ménage story like "Be with Me"?

Maya Banks Thank you! Another menage like Be With Me is ALWAYS a possibility. As my backlist shows, that's a theme I love to write. The only one I have right now in the lineup is the Tangled Hearts trilogy but I have plenty of story ideas I'd love to explore in the future.

I love your books! Thank you for being so awesome :) Do you know who the next KGI book will be about and if you do will you tell me? Also I loved Theirs To Keep and I know you have had a hard time squeezing in the next book in your schedule, but is their any chance that we may get it this year?

Maya Banks I'm 95% sure I know who the next KGI will be about but until that's solid I can't announce it. I'd hate to say one thing then change it and disappoint my readers. I should have news to share about that soon, though.
As for Always Mine, I REALLY hope so! I'm spending even more time than normal writing right now in an attempt to get ahead of my deadlines so I can squeeze in the time to write Always Mine. I can't promise it will be out this year but I do promise to do EVERYTHING in my power to make it happen.

Hi Maya Have you ever thought of mixing characeters across series ? I had a thought that the sister of Beau and Caleb from the Slow Burn Series ( I cannot remember her name ) would be good with Joe from KGI as his twin has a wife who has powers and it would fit well ? Just an idea LOL Jayne UK

Maya Banks I've had characters cross over into others series before, such as Damon from Sweet Persuasion showing up in the Surrender trilogy, but it wouldn't be possible for Tori and Joe for two reasons. One, those series are with different publishers. Two (and the MAIN reason) is I've known who Tori's hero is since page one of Keep Me Safe and I'm SO excited to get those two together and give Tori the happily ever after she deserves.

Will there be anymore books in the Sweet series? I enjoyed reading them and now I am getting ready to start the Breathless Trilogy and reading Mastered.

Maya Banks The Sweet series is finished. However, my Surrender trilogy is set in the same "world" and some of the Sweet heroes and heroines make an appearance there.

Maya Banks Thank you so much, Julie! I DO have more historicals coming. Highland Ever After will be out February 2018, with another following in February 2019. I know that's not as soon as many readers hoped and for that I sincerely apologize. The series was moved to a new publisher, which takes a lot of time, then it had to be scheduled to fit in with my writing schedule of already contracted books, my release schedule, and the publisher's schedule.

Shoot, I really want to say so many things to you, but Goodreads won't let me! Muahahaha. So I'm gonna make this short; I know for now you're focusing on finishing Enforcer series, KGI, and even Tangled Hearts series. But will you ever write standalone again Miss Maya, just like Seducing Simon or Pregnancy Passion series?

Maya Banks I have a TON of story ideas rattling around in my brain that I would love to write and some of those would likely be stand alones. But, as you said, right now my priority is the currently contracted books plus getting Always Mine out to the readers who have been waiting oh so patiently for it. If this year goes as I'm hoping it will, I can get all caught up and start working on getting those ideas out of my head and into books.
