Robert J. Romano Jr. Stephen King writes in his book on writing that the mind is a muscle. Like any muscle it improves with exercise. Also, by sticking to a routine, the mind knows it's time to write. I tend to write in the mornings, in the same room on the same laptop. If nothing comes to me, I switch to another project. If that does not work, I'll work on editing. the point is, I sit at that the damn laptop on those mornings and by sticking to the routine my mind knows it's time to get cracking. This works for me.
Robert J. Romano Jr. The rush when you find the right words.
Robert J. Romano Jr. A book of short stories centering around fly fishing. A strong sense of place will bind the stories together. There will also be a bit of the fantastical that will include mystical trout and strange happenings. My daughter, Emily Rose, will be contributing artwork illustrating each story and emphasizing the surreal nature of this collection .
Robert J. Romano Jr. My previous novels dealt with folks in their middle ages. So, the lakes, rivers and streams of the region as well as the spruce-and-pine forest are prominently featured.
Robert J. Romano Jr. To borrow a quote attributed to James Joyce, "Write it, damn you, write it! What the else are you good for? I hear folks say they'd like to write something, but have this or that excuse for not doing so. Just sit down at the laptop and press down on those keys. It's that simply and that hard.
