Dawn Ford I am currently working on a middle grade fantasy novel based on a flash fiction piece I did under my pen name Jo Wonderly for Splickety's Havok magazine's October 2016 issue. The main character is an anti-type of heroine, a 13 year-old troll princess. She's much more interested in playing in the swamp than any kind of political duties, but she gets thrown into her role as heroine when her father, the king, goes missing.
Dawn Ford Normally I write more than one thing at a time, usually different genres. Since I write both fantasy and contemporary, when I need a brain break from one story, I can flip to a whole different mindset in the other one. It keeps me fresh and able to keep most blocks away.
Dawn Ford Don't write for the audience, write what is true and real in your heart. When you've honed your writing, the audience will come.
Dawn Ford From a flash fiction story I had published with Splickety Publishing Group last October (2016), published under a pen name, Jo Wonderly. It was so fun to write, I had to go further!
