Hi Sally, and how lovely of you to message. It is much appreciated.
Yes, Jacquie is great, and I’m hoping to be just like her when I grow up! I’m so happy that you enjoyed “The Third Daughter”, as I am very fond of Junia Tertia. She lived at a remarkable time, and I am convinced she was a redoubtable woman.
At the moment I’m working on the second of a series revolving around the poet Ovid in exile. He is a hugely enjoyable character - for me at any rate! It should be out in the autumn.
Are you a big Roman fan? If you are likely to be in London in the next few months there is an exhibition at the British Museum that looks terrific - Legion. All about the Roman army. I’m sure I shall bump into Jacquie there, so we’ll make sure we post a selfie or two.
If you would be interested in a short story or two, let me know. I’m contactable on fiona@fionaforsythauthor.co.uk

Reading! It is as I read about the world of Rome that I notice a detail, a gap 8n the evidence, that piques my interest.

I am currently editing the last story in the Sestius series, Philippi. I am particularly interested in the life-long effects of the Battle of Philippi on the men who survived it.

(view spoiler)[I was reading a book about Marcus Brutus and there was a single sentence saying that his sister, who was married to Cassius, had a miscarriage after the Ideas of March. I began to wonder what it must have been like to be so closely involved with the leaders of the plot to assassinate Caesar. (hide spoiler)]
