Wallis Wilde-Menozzi It is important to let go for a while. Listen to other stories, think about other topics. Writing is a mysterious process. If you open yourself to it, it will come, sometimes bearing good news, sometimes an unexpected tale or direction will insist on being pulled from the dark. Don't force and don't give up. Honor your desire by giving it space to breathe and exist.
Wallis Wilde-Menozzi I have often wondered about my mother's grandmother, who was always described as a little girl who was brought home from church one afternoon, riding on what would have been my mother's great grandfather's shoulders. No one ever had an answer nor expressed interest in her. I got as far as her birth certificate. She was born in NY and she entered into our family in Wisconsin. There is much material here for a rich plot.
Wallis Wilde-Menozzi I published two books at the same time. One is a novel, one is a type of memoir and meditation. Both books were inspired by my life in Italy, where I live outside of the language that I write in. Living in Italy, my sense of otherness has deepened, and I am interested in bringing this point of view to the page, suggesting new angles through which we can see our present world.
