Hello! I was lucky to win a copy of your book Prison Pyramid for my Kindle, however I've tried to download it and read it but it says it's not compatible with my device. Is this simply not compatible with a 7th generation Kindle? I'm bummed, I really wanted to read this one! Thanks!

How do you get inspired to write?
Dax Xenos I am always inspired whether awake or dreaming. When you are alive and active, it's hard to get the words out fast enough. When you are lonely or depressed writing can be your best friend.

What are you currently working on?
Dax Xenos Polishing up a collection of short stories I have written over the past few decades, while writing two novels adapted from my screenplays, another historical novel about my family life in frontier Kentucky and several non-fiction books.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Dax Xenos Keep writing. Write about what you know, but also write about what you don't know and thereby discover new aspects of yourself.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Dax Xenos Writing is the most fun you can have with your intellect. Making up stories and infusing them with your life experience is a noble activity.

Dax Xenos Never had it. My problem is turning off the flow of ideas.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Dax Xenos The idea for a novel about a futuristic prison set in the middle of west Texas desert came to me years ago after experiencing the criminal justice system on both sides of the walls. I realized there had to be a better way, more effective methods of dealing with crime and criminals. Instead of serving as warehouses, what if offenders actually became rehabilitated into productive citizens? How would that best serve society? The first thing I did was design the prison, a mile high and a mile wide around its octagonal base, the largest building ever built by man. As a licensed general contractor I had knowledge of concrete, steel and other materials that would make this edifice probable. The novel contains elaborate drawings which depict various aspects of the subterranean power plant, aquaculture farms, waste disposal levels, the hydroponic gardens, 500 levels of inmate housing, and so forth. Lots of research to make all these inter-working systems plausible. Dealing with the day-to-day care and training of 2,000,000 inmates is not a simple task. Then, who to run and manage such a facility. It had to be a larger than life genius skilled in many areas, hence the creation of Dr. Vladimir Zordic who runs the prison from his mile high compound under a geodesic dome. Then , who will tell the story? Why not a conspiracy theorist with millions of followers who gets framed and sent to the Pyramid for re-purposing. The story wrote itself from there.
