Trudi Trueit Westley and Buttercup from the Princess Bride, because you can't stop true love. It's our favorite movie, too. Each day as my husband goes off to work (he's a teacher), I call out "Have fun stormin' the castle!"
Trudi Trueit It depends on many things: the subject, the genre, (fiction or nonfiction), the length of the book, the age group you are writing for, etc. On average, it takes me about three to four months of writing each day to complete a tween book of 40,000 words. After that, I will have a round of revisions to do for my editor so it takes her a few months to read it and give me notes. The revision will take about a month or so. While my editor and I are busy with the manuscript, an artist is designing the cover, the sales/marketing team is promoting the book, and other people are working behind the scenes. So from the time that I begin writing the book until it is actually published takes 1 - 2 years! Thanks for the question!
