Raymond Khoury I'm afraid we don't have any timetable for that at the moment, Robert, sorry. The only english-language hardcover currently available is the UK edition.
Raymond Khoury Sorry, didn't see this…
So long? The story is what it is, it evolves as I'm writing it, there's never a pre-set plan about how long it will be. That said, yes, they are much longer than the normal thrillers… I hope they're not boring! :-D
Raymond Khoury Motivation is, it's what I do, it's the work I love! Inspiration comes from all kinds of things… lots of ideas flying around in my head at any moment. Another mash-up? You know, I enjoyed writing Shadow Tag so much, I'm sure I'll do another when I have time!
Raymond Khoury Hmmm… Here are a few I can think of:
The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruis Zafon
Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises
11.22.63 by Stephen King
How I Became a Famous Novelist by Steve Hely
The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester
No Second Chance by Harlan Coben
Devils in Exile by Chuck Hogan
The Jaguar Smile by Salman Rushdie

Raymond Khoury I hope not. It's heavily researched, everything in my two Templar thrillers about their history is true--except for the central mystery about what their secret was, which is, of course, fiction… Enjoy!
Raymond Khoury Things happening around the world usually inspire me, more so in this new book… In THE END GAME, I wanted to answer a question that popped into my head when writing the last chapter of RASPUTIN'S SHADOW, which was to find out what really happened to Reilly's dad...
Raymond Khoury Once I start writing a novel, it almost writes itself. I don't plan ahead in detail, only in very broad strokes, so I'm as desperate to know what's going to happen next as--I hope--my readers will be.
Raymond Khoury My next novel, THE END GAME, comes out on March 10, and I'm now deep into a new book, which is very different from what I've done before and, if I pull it off well, should be a very interesting read… we'll see!
Raymond Khoury Study the genre you want to write in, read other authors you admire more attentively than you would for leisure reading, and just write … it's a craft that needs practice, nurturing, and focus. Choose your story carefully, make sure you're convinced that it deserves to be written, populate it with well-thought-out, interesting characters. Do the homework and do the work.
Raymond Khoury The absolute freedom of living in worlds you invent, with characters you invent… and the freedom of doing it on your own terms.
Raymond Khoury It's never writer's block for me, it more that sometimes life issues like family health issues take precedence and I'm unable to write as I have to deal with helping that person(s) back to health before I have the energy and the peace of mind to feel creative. For some people, writing may provide an escape from situations like that, but I unfortunately find them crippling. Happy to report that all is well now and I'm firing on all cylinders...
Raymond Khoury Hi Sarah,
Do you mean how come they're long books, or that you feel it takes a long time for them to come out?
Raymond Khoury Hi Paul, yes Reilly and Tess are back on March 10 in The End Game, which will answer the last unresolved questions from the last two books. In the meantime, Steve Berry and I just released a Reilly and Cotton Malone short story as an Amazon Exclusive called Shadow Tag, it's a fun piece that we had a blast writing, you might want to check it out…
