If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?

Donald Allen Kirch I would go to the world I created - the "Nown" World. I would like to see if the "real" people in that universe were like the ones I created. I think it would be a happy place to live. Dangerous, but happy.

What books are on your summer reading list this year?

Donald Allen Kirch I am going to start reading Terry Brooks' "Landover" series again. Love those books!!

Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

Donald Allen Kirch WONDERFUL question! That carries with it a two-part answer: Part One: I honestly love Ka-Ron and Jatel in my fantasy series "The Nown World Chronicles." Through all there grief, adventure, and love...they manage to grow nearer and bond deeper - even when curses change their genders! They say to me, on a personal level, that "love conquers all" in an age where love is sold as a cheap commodity, they continue "carrying on." I find that supremely comforting

Part Two: I am a huge "Doctor Who" fan and love "The Ponds." If you do not understand...I can't help you with this one. You have to watch "The Doctor."

Hi Donald, I was wondering if there is somewhere to still buy a printed copy of your book, Manchester House?

Donald Allen Kirch Yes! The book has been revised and published under the title "Through A Glass Darkly." This version is the "original" manuscript and was the edition I had wanted to publish. So, enjoy! FYI: Later this year, there will be an audiobook!

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Donald Allen Kirch I saw this guy waiting outside one of our government offices - I don't know what he was doing - but., he had such a look of desperation mixed with a quality of lost in his eyes that hit me hard. I never want to go where he was traveling. It made me think about him for at least a week. I do that. Then, my "dark passenger" started to build a story around his troubled eyes. The next thing I knew...I had a story.

How do you get inspired to write?

Donald Allen Kirch It can be anything in the course of the day. I see a guy be "mean" to a store clerk, or something silly, or just have a sincere thought about an old childhood memory. Writing is a serious part of who I am.
