G.M. Gray I am itching to finish Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation and Heaven Official's Blessing by MXTX (and, sure, I have several "literary" books I want to get through as well, but let's talk about how much I love MXTX).

MXTX is a huge inspiration to me. Her approach to humor, drama, action, and political world building really appeal to my sensibilities, to say nothing of her romances. In all honesty, I grew up reading more "Boys Love adjacent" works than actual BL (i.e. Saiyuki, Get Backers, and generally things that were nominally shounen or josei...but also just...homoerotic?), and MXTX's stuff is the first outright BL/danmei that really caught me. I really do read it as much for the plot as the sexiness!
G.M. Gray I'm working on a couple short stories for an anthology! It's a horror anthology, which is not exactly my wheel house, but I'm going to do my best to make them creepy :D.

The first is a tie-in to Triple Strike. I'm aiming for a blend between Event Horizon and the Cowboy Bebop episode "Toys in the Attic." The second is a prequel to a video game I'm making that I'd like to get back to soon-ish. It's based on Russian fairy tales, so of course Baba Yaga will make an appearance.
G.M. Gray I've actually been going back in time in terms of book ideas. Specifically, Triple Strike is a never-finished high school web comic that I'm reworking into a light novel. As much as I'm pulling a lot of the characters and plots from the comic, the current incarnation is quite different. I might even go so far as to say "better" (yeah, it's definitely better).

So while the general idea of Triple Strike is hardly new, I've reworked the world and technology from the ground up, and performed a massive overhaul on the plot. I am happy to say the spirit of the original characters are mostly unchanged. I considered them charming twenty years ago, and apparently I still find them charming to this day.
