I grew up an only child in the middle of nowhere, so I've made up stories my entire life. As I got older, it wasn't something I could turn off. I started creating long form stories that I wanted to keep going, so I started writing them down to remember what happened so far. I just never stopped.

There are no rules, no budget, nothing other than what I put on the page. On any given day I can write completely different personalities in completely different environments that exist with completely different laws of science and physics. That's freeing.

The idea for my most recent release, The Book of Daniel: Hellbound and Down, came from the city of Austin, TX. I had been living there for a few months and was getting ready to leave, so I had been in the mood to write something commemorating the beauty of the city and some of my favorite places. I had been reading a decent amount of Lovecraft at the time and ideas just started dropping into place. Before long, I realized I was looking at not just a novel but multiple books.

I'm currently setting up my first Kindle Vella story! I'm really excited about trying out this format and seeing what I can do with it.
