We don't know who my dad's (or one of his brother's) biological father was. We discovered through DNA that it was not the man we knew as Grandfather Gilmore. But my dad was born in 1921 so anyone with direct knowledge of who the mystery man was is dead. So far, DNA has not provided us with any close relatives that might help us solve the mystery (we've tested on 3 sites).

Writer's block has never been a problem for me. Finding the time to write is something I've had to work. I taught for 25 years and had 3 months off every summer to write. When I retired and got a job in the real world, I no longer got a three-month vacation every year and, subconsciously, I guess I was always waiting for that large block of free time. So I've had to learn to carve out an hour or two most evenings.

Some ideas for a third book in the series of "Bucky and the Lukefahr Ladies" is fermenting in my brain, but I am taking a break from actual writing for a few weeks because of the busy Christmas season. I hope to start writing again the end of December.

My most recent book is a sequel to my first book, published last year. I wrote the first one with no intention of it turning into a series. But as soon as it was published people started writing in the reviews and telling me personally that they hoped there would be more. My only problem was that I had no idea what the second book would be about. There were some unanswered questions in the first book, and one of my beta readers mentioned to me that she loved the character of Simon but she felt he had some secrets. Many of the readers wanted to know more about Bucky;s mother and what happened to her and would she ever return. So I started with those ideas and went with them. One of my first beta readers for "Songs of Three" commented that he couldn't believe I didn't have the second book planned out when I wrote the first one, because everything just followed perfectly. I told him if I had had it planned I would have changed some things in the first book, but as it was, I had to work with what I had already written.
